Privacy Policy

The short version: Stark never collects, transmits, or stores any of your data. Everything runs on your Mac, offline, always.

Who we are

Stark is a macOS application developed by Ata Kılıç. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at ata@kilicov.dev.

What data we collect

None. Stark does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, analytics, or crash reports. There is no account system, no sign-in, and no backend server.

How Stark accesses your files

Stark only reads and moves files inside folders you explicitly select and approve. This is enforced by macOS sandbox permissions and app-scoped security bookmarks. Stark cannot access any folder you have not granted permission to.

File paths and names are processed entirely on your device.
No file content, metadata, or names are ever sent anywhere.
Permissions are stored locally using macOS security-scoped bookmarks.

AI and machine learning

Stark uses Apple Foundation Models (macOS 26+) and Apple's NaturalLanguage framework for file classification and command parsing. All AI processing happens on-device. No data is sent to any external AI service or server.

Local data storage

Stark stores the following data locally on your Mac only:

Your app preferences and settings (via UserDefaults)
Organization history and undo logs (local JSON files)
Automation rules you create
Folder access permissions (security-scoped bookmarks)

This data never leaves your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the app or resetting settings from within the app.

No third-party services

Stark does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting SDKs. There are no calls to external servers of any kind during normal operation.

App Store purchase

The Stark Pro in-app purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. Stark does not receive or store any payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.

Children's privacy

Stark does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. There is no data collection of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
